Tom Smith recently obtained two good results for one of Fox Smith’s transportation clients. Fox Smith represents Laclede Cab Company, the largest taxicab company in the City of St. Louis. In November 2011, Tom tried a property damage bench trial in St. Louis City Court seeking recovery for vehicle damages and down time arising from a three-vehicle accident on Highway 44 in January 2010. Following a half-day trial the court found 100% in favor of Laclede Cab Company. In January 2012, Tom began trial in St. Louis County Circuit Court on a personal injury claim against Laclede Cab Company arising from an automobile accident in May 2009 in which plaintiff alleged serious injury to his neck and back, including a disc injury, that led to over $26,000 in claimed medical expenses and several months of lost wages. During the pretrial conference Tom was successful in persuading the Court to exclude evidence related to a large amount of plaintiff’s medical bills. Following this favorable ruling and after conducting voir dire, the plaintiff’s attorney dismissed his lawsuit.
