Debra J. Bunn, RN, MSN has over 30 years of nurse paralegal and former intensive care staff nurse experience. She has worked in defense firms assisting in product liability, medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, and Workers’ Compensation litigation. As a medical and cardiac intensive care nurse, Ms. Bunn was responsible for managing patients with complex medical diagnoses and multiple medical monitoring devices in a 20-bed CCU/MICU setting.
Ms. Bunn had been involved with the defense of Illinois and Missouri State Court cases, Federal District Court cases and Multi-District Litigations. Ms. Bunn’s roles have included head nurse paralegal for regional counsel in numerous pharmaceutical litigations, nurse coordinator for the international Hepatitis C litigation, and head paralegal for the MDL defense liaison counsel in products liability litigations. Representative litigations include: PPI, Yaz/Yasmin, Xarelto, Trasylol, Accutane, Gadolinium Based Contrast Agents, Baycol, Hemophiliac Factor Concentrate, and Genetically Modified Rice. She has also assisted in multiple complex/document intensive corporate cases.
Ms. Bunn earned a Masters of Science in Nursing (Cardiopulmonary) from St. Louis University in January 1997. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University in May 1990. Undergraduate honors include Cum Laude and Sigma Theta Tau (Honor Society of Nursing). She is a licensed registered nurse in Missouri and Illinois.
Ms. Bunn is a nurse volunteer for the St. Clair County Medical Reserve Corps. She is currently the President of the Diocese of Belleville Board of Education. She is a member of the Holy Childhood of Jesus Church Pastoral Council and serves as an extraordinary minister. She also serves as the chairperson of Holy Childhood of Jesus School Annual Fund.
