Jessica Reis focuses her practice on commercial and environmental law, employment law, and professional liability. She partners with clients through all phases of discovery and litigation to meet their obligations. She is currently pursuing certification as an e-discovery specialist and looks forward to expanding her service offerings to clients in the ever-growing “tech” world. Jessica is comfortable inside and outside of the courtroom, whether at trial, counseling companies on their legal obligations, or sitting beside a client in compliance with an investigation.
Representative Experience:
- Working with clients to maintain compliance with their industry-specific fiduciary and privacy obligations and to mitigate risk related to responding to civil and government inquiries and investigations, including implementing appropriate e-discovery protocols and compliance;
- Analyzing and successfully defending actions involving complex and commercial contracts such as AIA contracts and asset and membership purchase agreements;
- Counseling clients on the legal ramifications of conservation easements;
- Handling clean water and solid waste violations and navigating administrative requirements and rulemaking;
- Challenging the validity of administrative permits under Missouri Clean Water Law;
- Analysis of proposed administrative rulemaking on behalf of environmental clients;
- Defending various products liability and toxic tort cases, such as diacetyl, asbestos, and benzene;
- Advising and defending clients through EEOC investigations and employment litigation;
- Counseling employers on diverse topics such as non-competes, development of handbook policies, and wage and hour law; and
- Deposing plaintiffs and healthcare providers as a member of the firm’s pharmaceutical litigation team.
Jessica received her J.D., cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2016 and her B.A., also from Saint Louis University in 2013. While in law school, Jessica also obtained a health law certificate from the SLU Law Center for Health Law Studies, the nation’s premier health law program. She gained invaluable in-house experience as a legal services intern while attending SLU Law for a leading non-profit Catholic health system. Jessica also was a member of the Saint Louis University Journal of Health Law & Policy, on which she served as the publication’s Footnotes Managing Editor.
Jessica is admitted to practice in both Missouri and Illinois, as well as multiple federal courts.
